I studied BA Printmaking at WSCAD, taking it up again recently after attending a part-time course.
My screenprints reflect my penchant for vibrant colour plus a passion for wildlife and our natural world. As children we were encouraged by our grandad to appreciate nature and he taught us the names of the flora and fauna we saw. I still enjoy long walks - I’m always on the lookout for potential subjects for my prints! My aim is to portray the characteristics of the creatures I’ve been lucky to encounter.
Working from my photos and sketches as reference, I create detailed artwork which is then transferred onto a silkscreen to create stencils, which I use to hand-print my images. I’ve shown my screenprints at Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition, Wildlife Artist of the Year and Chelsea Arts Society amongst others.
